The Moreton Bay Rail Link
The Moreton Bay Rail Link is a new state and federal approved and backed infrastructure project for the construction of a rail line between Petrie and Kippa Ring. The Kallangur Station is second of six stations that are being constructed as part of the infrastructure development, and is located directly across the road from the estate. This rail link is vital for the growth and development of the nation's second-fastest growing LGA. The construction of the Rail Link will commence in 2012.
This Rail Link will provide:
- Cost-effective alternative to travel to Brisbane CBD with a travel time savings of up to 15 minutes in peak periods;
- Help reduce congestion on the road network, including the Bruce Highway, and free up capacity for journeys that can be used for public transport;
- Reduce carbon emissions – every full train on the new line will take about 600 cars off the road;
